Welcome to the Town Of Merton

Located in the north-central portion of Waukesha County, Wisconsin, the Town of Merton is a vibrant community that offers a wonderful balance of natural beauty, recreation, and essential community services.

The Town is home to five beautiful lakes, providing excellent opportunities for fishing, boa ng, and other recreational activities. Residents and visitors can also enjoy our ballparks, hiking opportunities, snowmobiling, and access to the Ice Age Trail. Excellent schools, a superb library, and a variety of delicious restaurants further contribute to the Town of Merton's appeal as a great place to live, work, and visit.

The Town of Merton is also one of the more complex municipalities in Waukesha County, with a diverse network of public services and taxing jurisdictions. The community includes eight elementary schools, one union high school, three fire districts, three ambulance districts, and eight different tax rates based on elementary school district boundaries.

The Town maintains 84 miles of roads and is organized into 11 wards with two polling locations serving nearly 6,300 registered voters. With a population of approximately 8,300 residents, the Town of Merton is a thriving community that takes pride in providing quality services while preserving the character and natural beauty that make it a special place to call home.
